Dysport®
What is Dysport?
Along with Botox, Dysport is a popular injectable (filler) designed to eliminate wrinkles and fine lines on your face. This treatment is made from the same neurotoxin as Botox, but usually doesn't require as many injections because it diffuses farther from the injection site than Botox does. Dysport is injected directly into the muscles that cause wrinkles, which temporarily immobilizes them. This procedure mainly targets the muscles on your forehead that tend to form creases when you frown.
Dysport Results
Results from the Dysport injection will start showing up within a week. You'll begin to notice wrinkle-smoothing results gradually as the Dysport sets in. The results have been shown to last longer than Botox (up to 13 months in some cases) because Dysport takes longer for the body to break down due to it having less protein than Botox. As a general safety rule, you should not receive Dysport injections within 90 days of each other.
Side Effects
The side effects associated with Dysport are usually very minor. You may experience headache and drooping eyelids, but the skilled staff at Austin Plastic Surgery Institute will make sure Dysport is administered correctly to avoid side effects.
