American Board of Plastic Surgery
The American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. was organized in June 1937 by representatives of various groups interested in this type of surgery and received recognition as a subsidiary of the American Board of Surgery in May 1938. The American Board of Plastic Surgery, Inc. was given the status of a major specialty board in May 1941 by action of the Advisory Board for Medical Specialties as approved by the Council on Medical Education of the American Medical Association, which has designated certain specialty fields as being suitable to be represented by specialty boards.
American College of Surgeons
The American College of Surgeons (ACS) is a non-profit scientific and educational association of surgeons that was founded in 1913 to improve the care of the surgical patient by setting high standards for surgical education and practice. Examples of activities conducted by ACS include educational programs such as the Clinical Congress and standard-setting programs in cancer and trauma care. Members of the American College of Surgeons are referred to as "Fellows." The letters FACS (Fellow American College of Surgeons) after a surgeon's name means that the surgeon's education and training, professional qualifications, surgical competence and ethical conduct have passed a rigorous evaluation, and have been found to be consistent with the high standards established and demanded by the College.
American Society of Plastic Surgeons

American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery
The American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery (ASAPS), founded in 1967, is the leading professional organization of plastic surgeons certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery who specialize in cosmetic plastic surgery. With 2,100 members in the U.S., Canada and many other countries, ASAPS is at the forefront of innovation in aesthetic plastic surgery around the world. Medical Advisory Board of Austin Breast Cancer Resource Center
The Breast Cancer Resource Center of Austin is a grass roots, non-profit organization created by breast cancer survivors. The Center exists to serve women with breast cancer, their families and support systems, women who have questions about screening and biopsy and others in the community who are concerned about breast cancer issues. Since it first opened in October 1995 through December 2003, BCRC staff and volunteers have answered over 15,000 calls and visits to the office for assistance.
Texas Medical Association
The Texas Medical Association was organized by 35 physicians in 1853 to serve the people of Texas in matters of medical care, prevention and cure of disease, and the improvement of public health. Today, with more than 41,000 physician and medical student members, TMA's vision is still to "improve the health of all Texans." TMA supports Texas physicians by providing distinctive solutions to the challenges they encounter in the care of patients.
Travis County Medical Society
The Travis County Medical Society (TCMS) is a component society of the Texas Medical Association (TMA), a statewide professional organization of licensed physicians. With more than 2,500 members, the TCMS represents approximately 90% of all practicing physicians in the Greater Austin area.
