Microneedling is a regenerative treatment that triggers natural collagen production to enhance skin quality and tone. Adding regular microneedling treatments to your skincare regimen can smooth fine lines, wrinkles, treat uneven skin tone, and reduce the appearance of acne scars and stretch marks.

How does microneedling work?

The effect of microneedling is the result of the body’s response to the micro-injuries created by the tiny needles. Your body reacts to injuries by creating fresh, new collagen fibers. This process is also called “collagen induction therapy.” This treatment can help you maintain soft, supple, evenly toned skin, as the skin becomes more resilient due to the new collagen growth, which occurs over time.

What is microneedling like to experience? Does it hurt?

Microneedling with MicroPen involves minimal discomfort. You may feel a warm, scratchy sensation as the handpiece is moved across your skin, and some minor discomfort where the skin is laying over the bone at the cheeks, forehead, and jawline. The entire treatment takes only about 30 minutes to complete, and the results are well worth it!

Am I a candidate for microneedling?

If you struggle with any of the following skin conditions, you are probably a very good candidate for microneedling:

  • Enlarged pores
  • Facial scars
  • Acne scars
  • Stretch marks
  • Fine lines, wrinkles
  • Sun damage
  • Uneven skin tone
  • Lax skin

Please note that if you are experiencing a breakout, skin infection, or have some medical conditions such as wound healing problems, we can offer other options for skin rejuvenation, rather than microneedling.

Microneedling reviews

“My son, Daniel, has had a fabulous experience with Ashley at the skin care clinic. His progress with the skin pin has been amazing and he is very pleased, which makes me so happy. I also want to mention that they have been flexible in scheduling his appointment around his busy work schedule. If you want excellent services and results, you should try APSI and the skin care services.”

What areas can be enhanced with microneedling?

While microneedling is most often performed as a facial procedure, it is appropriate for skin rejuvenation on a range of areas, including:

  • Face
  • Neck
  • Decolletage
  • Arms
  • Hands
  • Legs
  • Abdomen
  • Back

How long is the treatment?

Most microneedling treatments take about 30 minutes to complete. If a larger area of your body is being addressed, it may take longer.

What is the recovery time?

The recovery time from microneedling is minimal, typically 24 hours. For some it may require longer, possibly two to four days, particularly if one area needed more intensive treatment. It is normal to have reddened skin and see pinpoint bleeding where the needles enter the skin, which disappears quickly.
