What Is Motiva Preservé?

Motiva Preservé refers to a style of breast augmentation that centers on Motiva implants and a more controlled method of placement. It is a way of performing augmentation with an emphasis on minimizing disruption to existing tissue and utilizing the natural ligaments to support the implant. No mesh support/internal bra is necessary. The procedure can be done under sedation and the recovery is just a few days.

Motiva implants are designed with a softer gel and flexible shell, which allows them to naturally move with the breasts as the patient moves.

Benefits of Motiva Preservé

  • Natural feel and movement: Motiva implants are designed to respond more like natural breast tissue, creating softness and subtle movement.
  • Tissue preservation: The technique prioritizes minimizing disruption to surrounding structures to support smoother healing.
  • Refined, proportional results: Emphasis is placed on shape and placement so that volume can be placed exactly where the patient wants it.
  • Softer implant behavior: The gel-and-shell design allows the implant to settle and respond more naturally to movement.
  • Consistent positioning: Controlled placement helps maintain implant position as healing progresses.

Who This Approach Is Designed For

Motiva Preservé is a revolutionary technique that is ideal for individuals seeking breast enhancement with a focus on natural-looking results and a less invasive surgical approach. Ideal candidates are in good overall health, have realistic expectations, and want results that align with their existing proportions. It can be performed with sedation and does not require general anesthesia. The implant is placed above the muscle which gives a more natural look, quicker recovery and no implant distortion from muscle contracture.

Motiva Implant Types and Features

Motiva implants offer several design features that allow breast augmentation to be tailored to your anatomy and goals.

Ergonomix® vs. Round

Ergonomix implants shift with movement for a more natural shape when standing, while round implants provide more upper fullness and a more defined shape. The Ergonomix truly becomes one with the breast giving a more natural look. The Round is typically used when a lift is also being done as it can provide a little more upper pole volume.

ProgressiveGel®

Gel options vary in softness and structure, influencing how the implant feels and how well it maintains its shape over time.

SmoothSilk® Surface

A nanotextured surface designed to reduce inflammation while maintaining a smooth feel once in place. This proprietary surface is what makes this the safest implant ever to be used in breast augmentation.

TrueMonobloc® Construction

The shell and gel are bonded into a single structure to enhance durability and enable more controlled placement during surgery.

Your Consultation

Your consultation is designed to be thorough and informative. During this visit, your surgeon will evaluate your anatomy, discuss your goals, and determine whether Motiva Preservé is an appropriate option. The Crisalix 3D imaging allows a simulation to be created with the implant that fits your body that will give you the result you are after. You will receive clear guidance on implant selection, surgical planning, and what to expect before and after your procedure.

How the Procedure Is Performed

Motiva Preservé is performed as a breast augmentation procedure using a controlled, step-by-step approach. The very small incision (1inch) is placed within the breast fold. A small channel dissector is inserted followed by a balloon dilation. This pushes the support structures aside without being cut. Using a funnel, the implant can then be inserted through the very small incision.

The implant is positioned above the chest muscle which allows a more natural appearance and significantly quicker recovery. Placement is adjusted carefully to ensure symmetry and support. Once positioned, the incisions are closed with absorbable sutures and then skin glue over that.

Motiva Preservé Recovery and Results

Most patients can go to work the following day and then ease back into daily activity within the first week. Full exercise and workouts can resume in 7-10 days once the incision has healed. Swelling and tightness is minimal compared to traditional augmentation techniques. Final shape continues to refine as the surrounding tissue relaxes.

  • Breast reduction: Removes excess tissue to create a lighter, more balanced breast size and raised the nipple position.
  • Mommy makeover: Combines breast and body procedures to restore shape after pregnancy. Most frequently this is a tummy tuck, liposuction, skin tightening and a breast augmentation and/or breast lift.

FAQs

Are Motiva implants FDA-approved in the United States?

Yes. They were released here in September 2024. The same implants have been widely used outside the United States since 2010.

Can Motiva Preservé be used for revision breast surgery?

Yes. It is the implant of choice for all breast augmentations, whether it is the first time or revision surgery for those who have had their implants placed previously.

Will this technique affect future breast imaging or screenings?

All implants can affect imaging, but specialized techniques are used during mammograms to ensure accurate screening. This is true whether the implant is placed above or below the muscle.

How soon can I exercise after surgery?

Light activity can typically resume within a few days, while more strenuous exercise is gradually reintroduced after 7-10 days, provided the very small incision has healed well.

Is this procedure suitable for very thin patients?

Suitability depends on your existing tissue and overall anatomy, which will be evaluated during your consultation. If there is concern that there is not enough native breast tissue, the implant will be placed below the muscle. In that case, the Preservé technique would not be used.

Can I breastfeed after Motiva Preservé?

Many patients are still able to breastfeed after breast augmentation, though outcomes can vary depending on surgical technique and individual factors.

What happens if I want to change my implants later?

Implants can be exchanged or removed in the future if your preferences or needs change.
