Tone and tighten your body

Sometimes diet and exercise can only get you so far. Even if you adhere to a balanced diet and an exercise regimen, you may not be able to achieve the exact results you are going for. Stubborn fat and excess skin can be difficult to target with lifestyle changes alone. With BodyTite, we can tighten sagging skin and dissolve fat pockets that don’t respond to exercise. We can help you achieve your goals and boost your self-confidence. You deserve to reap the full benefits of your hard work!

What is BodyTite?

BodyTite is a safe and effective body-contouring procedure that can be used to address excess fat and skin on the:

  • Arms
  • Flanks
  • Knees
  • Inner or outer thighs
  • Buttocks
  • Back
  • Chest
  • Abdomen
  • Breast

Several regions can be treated during a single BodyTite session.

Unlike traditional surgical body-shaping procedures, BodyTite does not involve a lengthy and complicated surgical session, like with an abdominoplasty. Because of this, it requires less downtime and offers a more comfortable recovery process.

Overview – body sculpting with BodyTite

BodyTite contours and sculpts the body to give you the figure you desire. You can learn more about BodyTite in Austin when you consult with one of our skilled plastic surgeons here at Austin Plastic Surgery Institute. We are happy to walk you through the procedure and give you our professional recommendations.

How does it work?

BodyTite uses a fat-reduction technique called radiofrequency-assisted lipolysis (RFAL). This process uses radiofrequency energy to liquify stubborn excess fat, making it much easier to remove.

At the same time, it stimulates collagen production in the skin tissues to tighten loose skin in the target areas. The connection between the skin and muscle (Fibroseptal Network) is effectively shortened, which results in the tightening of the skin.

Am I a good candidate for BodyTite at APSI?

BodyTite is commonly recommended to patients who desire well-defined body contours but have not found success through diet and exercise. Stubborn areas of fat can be addressed. It is ideal if you are near your ideal weight. You may be a candidate if you have moderate excess skin after weight loss or due to the aging process. Those with poor overall elasticity to their skin will not get as good a result.

You must be in good overall health and must be a non-smoker. This is because smoking can negatively affect the healing process, resulting in complications. BodyTite is not a weight-loss treatment; it is intended for spot reduction of excess fat, along with tightening of excess skin. Because of this, it is not suitable for overweight patients who are looking for a way to achieve weight loss.

Your BodyTite consultation

Before a date can be set for your BodyTite procedure, you will need to meet with a plastic surgeon for a consultation. During a BodyTite consultation at Austin Plastic Surgery Institute, you will tell your plastic surgeon about your aesthetic goals for the treatment. They will walk you through the details of the procedure and will answer any questions you may have. The surgeon will perform a physical examination to evaluate the areas of concern. The two of you will go over your complete medical history, including any allergies you may have, any current health conditions, and any medications you are taking.

Preparing for your procedure

If you are taking any blood thinners or aspirin, you will need to avoid them 10 days before the treatment session. This will help prevent bleeding-related complications. A BodyTite procedure can last anywhere from one to three hours, depending on the target areas and the amount of fat that needs removal. At the start of a BodyTite session, your desired treatment areas will be marked as a guide while you are standing. A tumescent solution will be administered to cause the fatty tissue to swell and separate, improving ease of removal. This solution also reduces bleeding and numbs the region to any discomfort or pain.

Once the general anesthesia takes effect, a small incision is made. A 3mm probe is used to perform BodyTite. This wand has an internal cannula with an electrode; this is inserted through the incision and under the skin. The wand also has an external electrode, which is kept on the surface of the area to measure skin temperature and avoid burns.

The wand is used to apply RF energy to the targeted area to liquify the fat and tighten skin. A separate liposuction cannula is then used to remove the liquified fat. It typically takes around 15 minutes to treat each targeted region. Finally, the incision  is closed with a small suture and covered with a band aid.

BodyTite aftercare

After the procedure, you will rest for a brief period and then return home. It will be important to wear a post-treatment compression garment during recovery. Downtime can last anywhere from a day up to ten days. You can expect some soreness and tenderness in the affected areas during your recovery period. You will be prescribed medication for any discomfort. Incision dressings should be changed daily due to drainage.

When will I begin to see results?

Results of the BodyTite procedure will be immediately apparent in the form of a reduction in volume. Best results will be apparent six weeks after the date of treatment and maximum tightness is 3-6 months from surgery. The benefits of BodyTite are long-lasting.

How much does BodyTite cost?

The total cost for a BodyTite procedure will depend on the locations of the target areas and the amount of time involved.
