Smooth away forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet in minutes.

Dysport can treat many areas, the most common of which are frown lines, forehead lines and crow’s feet. The lines form due to a variety of factors, including repetitive facial expressions, sun damage, and aging. Fortunately, Dysport® can help diminish the appearance of these lines and give you a smoother, more rejuvenated appearance. Dysport can also be used to accomplish a lip flip and to help with gummy smile, chin dimples, bunny lines, masseter reduction, neck lines and more.

Overview – is Dysport right for you?

Along with BOTOX Cosmetic, Dysport is a popular injectable designed to smooth wrinkles and fine lines on your face. Dysport is similar to BOTOX Cosmetic and is injected directly into the muscles that cause wrinkles, which temporarily immobilizes them.

Results from the Dysport injections at our Austin, TX office are noticeable within 7-10 days. Some patients report that they feel their Dysport results last longer and kick in faster than other neuromodulators.

The treatment experience

Dysport is injected via a fine needle to specific areas on the face. Before the injection, these areas are marked, and a numbing anesthetic is applied. The amount of medicine injected varies by patient depending on their aesthetic goals. Some individuals will have deeper, broader wrinkles while others wish to target fine lines (which require less product). Dysport is administered during an in-office appointment that typically lasts about 30 minutes.

What to expect?

There is no downtime after a Dysport injection. Some mild swelling and redness may occur at the injection sites, but the skin will return to a normal appearance a few hours after treatment. Ice packs are often compressed to the site immediately after treatment to help calm the skin and reduce these aftereffects. Patients can resume their normal activities on the same day as their treatment. Results will become apparent within 7-10 days.

Dysport FAQs

Dysport or BOTOX?

Both Dysport and Botox are safe and effective to treat facial wrinkles, and both are widely available. Your practitioner will discuss which option they feel is best for you. The results of a Dysport injection may become visible faster than BOTOX and last a bit longer.

Dysport or filler?

Patients seeking to rejuvenate their facial appearance may look into injectable fillers, as well as products such as Dysport to attain results. Both skin treatments work to decrease facial wrinkles but use varying approaches. Injectable fillers add volume to certain facial structures, which creates a smooth result on the surface. It is common today to combine products such as Dysport and BOTOX, with an injectable filler. This has been labeled a “liquid facelift” and provides outstanding results for individuals who do not want surgery.

How often should I get treatment?

Patients are usually ready for a follow-up visit within 3-4 months after treatment. This varies by patient.
